Health

Updated: Apr 30, 2021

Health is defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a complete state of physical, mental and social well-being. The state of health is influenced by diseases, the physical and social environment, as well as the values, attitudes and goals of the individual, and the individual's own experience of their state of health. Experienced health is influenced by the individual's autonomy, ability and ability to make independent decisions, actions and the ability to self-care. The better the individual's health experience is, the better they will be in controlling their own lives. #health

Illness is an identifiable abnormality in the normal functioning of the body. The distinction between normal and abnormal in medicine is often perceived as challenging due to the complex causes of individual syndromes and diseases, often due to interactions. #illness

As medicine advances, many phenomena have found medical explanations and a cure. Unfortunately, positive development also has its drawbacks in people's over-reliance on medical remedies such as cholesterol and anti-hypertensive drugs instead of healthy eating and exercise. Medicine is constantly producing new information on diseases and their causes. #medicine

Everyday phenomena are "medical". Positive development has its downside. People today are waiting for medical help for all their life problems. The sadness of the loss is treated with antidepressants, and exercise and a healthy diet are replaced by cholesterol and antihypertensive drugs. Fewer deviations from the mean are considered a disease and treated with medications and other top medical methods. Life and society are becoming medicalized, everything becomes medicine.

There are innumerable factors affecting human health which, for example, Duodecim simplifies into six groups; #humanhealth #geneticfactors #theinnerworld #livingenvironment #lifestyle #treatment #prevention #coincidence

1. genetic factors (genes),

2. the inner world (values, attitudes, experiences),

3. the living environment (physical and social),

4. lifestyle, treatment

5. prevention

6. coincidence.

Good health at a later age is not just a coincidence, but one's own choices and the state of the environment can influence much of one's health. Not only can hereditary factors explain the intergenerational transmission of health and illness, but also the values, attitudes, lifestyle and atmosphere of the home have a major impact on health. Inheritance of habits and culture is even believed to be more important for health than genes. #goodhealth

Occasionally, it is of great importance to an individual's health, and hazards and combinations of hazards are often created by chance. Healthy lifestyles cannot prevent accidents, some people get ill no matter how healthy they are and others maintain their health and function for a long time despite their unhealthy lifestyles.

End of all health should be available for everyone and money shouldn't be the fence to reach a good lifestyle. That's why the responsibility is on us as adults. The support from governments, schools etc.it is very important and investments will be paid back for example of the lower health costs.
